RCIA
Thinking
of becoming a Catholic?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process or journey
of conversion for initiating persons into the Catholic Church. It
takes place in the context of the Christian community and is guided
by the Gospel of Jesus and by the witness and experience of St.
Jude parishioners. RCIA is designed for those who:
Have never been baptized or were baptized in another faith tradition.
Are Catholic, but have never celebrated Eucharist or Confirmation.
RCIA meets at St. Jude on Wednesday evenings beginning in September
culminating in the Easter Vigil and continuing into spring. For
further information please call Susan Kuchenbecker (440-366-5711x110)
or e-mail her at skk@saintjudeparish.org.
Reconciliation
Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 or any time by appointment. Communal
Celebrations are scheduled during Advent and Lent.
First
Reconciliation and Eucharist
Children in the second grade are prepared to receive the Sacraments
of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time. The preparation
process includes catechesis for the parents. For further information
on the second grade Sacramental preparation process contact Patti
Lutke at 440-366-5711.
Confirmation
The Confirmation Program is a process that helps high school students
explore what it means to make a faith commitment and to accept the
responsibility that comes with that decision. Adults are needed
to join the team, which conducts the preparation sessions. For more
information please contact Deacon Pat Humphrey 440-366-5711 or email
at: deacon@saintjudeparish.org.
Catholic adults
who have never been confirmed and wish to receive the Sacraments
participate in several Sunday morning preparation sessions prior
to Confirmation. Please contact Susan Kuchenbecker at the Rectory
for dates, times, and further information.
Matrimony
Couples planning to marry are asked to contact Fr. Kosem at least
six months before your anticipated date. The priest will explain
the required preparation process at your first meeting. Call 440-366-5711.

Any parishioner wishing to discuss a vocation to the the priesthood,

Homebound,
Ill and Hospitalized
Rev. Mr. Frank J. O'Connell will be directing our HomeBound
Ministry of St. Jude. This is an essential aspect of my
ministry here at St. Jude: "to bring the healing light of Christ
to you" in prayer, to walk with you on this journey; in your
time of sickness and convalescence. If you or anyone you may know
may be infirmed, disabled and homebound, please call Deacon Frank.
440-366-5711x104.
For the ill
or disabled, Father Kosem has First Friday visitations to the homebound
of the parish. He will be happy to bring Communion upon request
and our Lay Ministers of the Eucharist will also come regularly.
Please call the rectory.
Sr. Joan Tomchey,
O.S.U. and Mr. Ray Holland serve in the Pastoral Care Department
at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Privacy laws require a family member
or those who are sick to notify the parish Office directly if someone
is in the hospital or nursing home. Please call for a visitation
by the parish staff. When coming to EMH for admittance or for in-patient
care or surgery, ask that Sr. Joan Tomchey of the pastoral Care
Office be informed of your admittance. They will call us
to let us know that you are there. You may want to let us know ahead
of time as well of any upcoming plans for admittance.
