Altar & Rosary
The Altar & Rosary Society offers spiritual, social and service
activities to the women of St. Jude and provides for some of the
liturgical needs of the parish. The monthly meetings are on the
second Wednesday of the month. Some activities are an annual evening
of recollection, a scriptural rosary, and a mother/daughter dinner.
All women of St. Jude parish are invited and most welcome to attend.
Holy Name Society
The Holy Name Society provides a wonderful opportunity for the men
of the parish to get involved and assist the pastor and staff in
current parish activities and projects. Along with the annual Parish
Festival/BBQ, this organization also raises funds for the parish
through projects such as the Christmas tree sale and the Lenten
fish fry dinners, as well as others. Monthly meetings are on the
first Thursday of the month. All the men of the parish are most
welcome to attend these meetings and get involved in any and all
of the above mentioned events.
Legion of Mary
Legion of Mary is a spiritual-based service organization. The legion
accomplishes its goals through prayer and good works. Some of the
activities are visiting the sick and elderly in homes, hospitals
and institutions, promoting religious devotions, and visiting homes
of the newly baptized. Prayer meetings for the active members are
every Monday at 8:30 a.m. in the church. Those who wish to pray
at home may join as Auxiliary members.
Sports Committee
The Sports Committee provides a supervised program of competitive
sports under the rules and policies of CYO. The objective is to
firmly implant the ideals of good sportsmanship among the participants.
Adults also assist in the numerous activities of coaching, fund
raising, and promoting the various sports programs for both the
boys and girls. More help is always needed and appreciated.
Scout Programs
Scout Programs lead young people to become contributing members
of the community and have fun at the same time. Scout troops welcome
adults in leadership and support roles that can include regular
weekly involvement or periodic special projects and events. You
don't need to have a son or daughter of scouting age or have had
any previous experience with scouting to participate.
Seniors
St. Jude Seniors is an organization of retired people who meet the
third Tuesday of every month. The gatherings are educational, social
and spiritual. Numerous other activities such as bus trips are also
planned. All are most welcome to join.
Women of Faith
Women of Faith is a group of women who get together to grow spiritually.
The group uses various books that incorporate bible studies designed
to take them on a journey toward a more intimate relationship with
Christ by bringing them together with their sisters in faith. Meetings
are once a month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Watch the bulletin for
the date of the meetings. All women are encouraged to participate.
Men's
Club
The Saint Jude Men's Club is an organization dedicated to helping
others, regardless of need. We currently support the Lorain County
Furniture Bank and various St. Jude Parish needs.
